MoLLViS: Mobiles Sprachenlernen für sehbehinderte und blinde Studierende

Für sehbehinderte Menschen ist das Erlernen von Sprachen entscheidend um effektiv kommunizieren zu können und fördert dadurch soziale Integration und Beschäftigungsmöglichkeiten.

Leider haben führende Verlagshäuser kaum oder kein Lehrmaterial für Blinde und sehbehinderte Lerner/innen. Da papier- und textbasierte Bücher per se nicht barrierefrei sein können, bietet computerbasiertes Lehrmaterial, das speziell für diese Lerngruppe konzipiert wurde, reale Chancen für das Lernen im Allgemeinen und auch für das Erlernen von Fremdsprachen.

In diesem Zusammenhang können mobile Geräte wie Smartphones und Tablet-Computer neue Wege anbieten. Diese Geräte sind attraktiv, besonders für jüngere Menschen und  bieten darüber hinaus Barrierefreiheit für Menschen mit Sehbehinderungen. Bestehende Apps für Sprachkurse sind jedoch nicht barrierefrei konzipiert und machen keinen Gebrauch vom kommunikativen Potenzial dieser Medien.

Das Projekt MoLLVIS hat daher das Ziel, die deutsche Sprache per Tablet PC und Smartphone erlernbar zu machen und dafür LernApps für Windows-, Apple - und Android-Geräte zu erstellen. Dieses Projekt beruht auf den Ergebnissen der europäischen Projekte ALLVIP (http://www.allvip.org), ELLVIS (http://www.ellvis.allvip.org) und VET4VIP (http://www.vet4vip.org), in denen computerbasierte Sprachkurse für blinde und sehbehinderte Schüler/innen erstellt wurden.

Da die zu entwickelnden Benutzerschnittstellen so konzipiert sind, dass sie für sehende Schüler gleichermaßen attraktiv sein werden, geht die Wirkung über die engere Zielgruppe hinaus.
